Most claims I see are not denied. They are delayed, and almost always for the same three reasons.
The first is the medical evidence. A physician's statement that says the veteran needs help with daily activities has to actually describe the help, activity by activity. Vague is slow.
The second is the care expense record. Aid and Attendance looks at what you are paying for care now, not what you might pay later. Families who wait for approval before starting care make their own claim weaker.
The third is the marriage and service documentation, especially for surviving spouses. Get the certificates early. They take longer to find than anyone expects.
