Music and memory
The songs somebody learned at twenty are still in there.
A music and memory session is a personal live music visit for a senior or a family in Orlando, including people living with dementia or Alzheimer's. Teri Rosado learns the songs that matter to that person, in English or Spanish, and plays them slowly at home or in a memory care community.
What a session is
I come to the house, or to the community room. I bring an instrument. Before I play anything I sit down and ask what your person listened to when they were young, what was playing at their wedding, what their mother sang in the kitchen.
Then I learn those songs properly and I play them slowly, in a key a voice that has not sung in a while can actually reach. About forty five minutes. Family are welcome to stay in the room, and most do.

We choose the music together
A short call or a form. Names of songs, or just a decade and a country. I can work from very little.

I learn it and I come to you
At home, in a community room, or bedside. No sound system, no production, nothing that makes it feel like an event.

We talk afterwards
What worked, what did not, whether it is worth doing again. If music is not reaching your person I will say so.

Straight pricing, once we have spoken
A single home session, a set of four, and community afternoons are all priced differently, and travel outside the core service area changes it. I will not put a number on this page that I might have to walk back on the phone.
Tell me who the session is for and where you are, and you will have a figure the same day. There is no deposit until you have a date you are happy with.

No, and I will not call it that. Music therapy is a licensed clinical profession. I am a songwriter who plays the songs your person already carries, in their home or their community. What families get is presence and recognition, not treatment.
